Sustainability
Finca Las Morenas is a completely “Off Grid property”, with no mains water or electricity.
We try to make every effort to ensure that we are doing as much as possible to conserve resources and to be as energy efficient as possible without compromising on comfort.
The garden has been designed to be low maintenance, drought tolerant and a haven for wildlife & pollinators, it has never had any artificial irrigation and everything has to survive on winter and Spring rainfall which can be very erratic and unreliable.
The majority of the planting is native, using plants found in the immediate locality that have adapted to cope with 5 months without rain, cold Winter winds, occasionally snow and minimal rainfall.
We have used locally sourced materials to complete all of the work in the garden,
The casita at Las Morenas is a very comfortable , spacious small house with a large covered porch and private garden areas and is available to rent from March until the end of October. Whether you come to hike in the National Park, undertake a course or just want to disconnect for a while, Las Morenas is the perfect place to unwind & relax.
We have used sustainable and recycled materials in the refurbishment of the accommodation and have incorporated other features at the property to conserve water & energy.
